Story #7 done…
What a creepy story 😬 I had assumed the boy was real the whole time until the ending. I did suspect ghostly sightings when the horse started acting weird, but I thought it was a misdirect. I think the mother saw what the girl was talking about as well but didn’t want to worry her daughter. That poor boy…maybe he can become friends with the girl one day.

Story #6 done!
An adorable tale about a father who tells his daughters a story about a spider trapped in the wings of a golden eagle. The daughters join the eagle on an adventure towards the hotel nearby and then arrive back safely to the beach. The father, surprisingly, doesn’t remember telling them the story but the girls had fun anyway. A very cute and wholesome tale.

Another poem-like story. I enjoyed how it talks about how modernized and industrialized nature and rural areas are becoming, but despite that, humanity and human nature still remain in these gray, dull areas.

Story #4 done!
This one was my favorite so far. I thought it was so cute how the two boys just found an anthropomorphic bear and didn’t question it at all. The bear acted so cute too. I’m glad there were pictures too because I don’t think I would have been able to visualize it. The reveal at the end that it was the father (that left them) and the mother knew the whole time was kind of melancholic.

Story #3 done (if you can even call it that)
After reading this I remembered that this book has poems in it as well. It was very well structured and it captured the beauty of childhood in a cabin farm surrounded by woods and responsibility while also remembering the fun they had while young.

Story #2 is done!
A tale of a young boy disobeying his mother and jumping off the roof of the “pumping station” into the sea below only to then time travel decades into the future where there are new buildings and he even has a wife and children! Luckily he is able to travel back to his own time, but this is why we listen to our mothers!

First story done. I thought it was a cute story about two boys of different high school social statuses becoming friends overnight by bonding over a spooky adventure together. I hope they remained friends afterwards.
