So far, I'm really enjoying this book. It is a real page turner
Louis Zamperini (the main character) has already gone through an incredible transformation (one of the book's main themes is his survival and "rebirth" as a new person). He's gone from a child engaged in petty crime and illegal behaviour (stealing and other crimes) to an international celebrity athlete who breaks world records to a WWII soldier.

I am currently reading about Zamperini's experience in the Japanese P.O.W camp. He may have a chance of survival yet, as he has been able to contact his family. Japan is under threat from Allied war planes and the tide of the war is turning. However, Zamperini is very close to death and incredibly malnourished. I am still thoroughly enjoying the book and am interested to see what will happen to Zamperini and others.
