Just finished with the Middle Ages. So much to take in. Dark and dense. Looking forward to some 'enlightenment' to brighten up the mood, so I will soldier on.

Wading through the chapters on WWII and all that. The warning signs and mistakes from that period of history don't seem to have made enough impact on today...

Geez, the French Revolution and all that followed, including the Industrial Revolution was complicated and so, so detailed. I got through it.
Time for another break from this rolling read.

Slowly getting through it. A lot of detail. But not a surprise given it's a history of Europe, eh?

Time for a break and fish out a novel or two - hence listing this as a rolling read.
I knew what I was in for, and prepared. It’s dense and detailed.
Ancient Greek and Roman times are now behind me.

NB The sheer weight of this book is like using hand weights! INSERT SMILEY FACE.

William Adam Reed Colin, I loved this book. Though it's long, its worth it!

I've marked it as a rolling read, William. Need breaks here and there, but I agree, it's a worthwhile read.
Cheers from CB

Dee Miller What a whopper to undertake. I hope you have some lighter side dishes to accompany you as you work your way through this elephant.
How do you eat an elephant?

One bite at a time! Keep nibbling.

Eloquent words from the wise Dee Miller!

Josh I'm going through Peter Ackroyd's History of England 6 volume series, so I know how daunting a full scale history of a wide scale in time can be on such a vast area.

Please do, Dee. I'll have the Jumbo-size recipe. Hehe.

We can soldier on together, Josh.
While I've got your attention, can you please stop changing your profile pic to all these wonderful places around the world. Makes me feel very envious. Cheers.

Ha! That was from 2022, but will see it again most likely next year. I actually own a yellowed version of this Davies book in paperback, so I'm curious how you'll feel about it once you're done.

Teasing me again with all your overseas travels, Josh. Urgggh.
Owning vs. reading? I'd suggest you take it on your next holiday, but this door stopper will add to much weight to your carry-on luggage...

Not meaning to tease, friend! I have to be so restrictive with the books I bring home from Europe because of the weight. The selection is so much better to look at in person than what I'm used to.

And I'm only joshing with you Josh. All banter, eh?
I can't complain given I had my trip to Europe last year.
Keep well.

Still trying to figure out where the verb 'joshing' came from. It's very fitting though :D

Take care.

Certainly used a bit Down Under. Joshing = to tease, make banter etc.
Fits well.
