Reading this at a snail's pace. GOD this book's American exceptionalism is incessant and irritating, I don't understand why you'd insist on writing a book about a worldwide apocalypse but only doing as much research on global politics as much as an American grade schooler.

The only reason I’m not DNF-ing this book is so that I can fully criticize it once I’m done

I don’t know what happened but in 100 pages the book just threw out everything interesting about it (the geopolitics and the mechanics of human survival) and devolved into right wing-esque military porn that it’s been such a SLOG to go through.
