If there was a different narrator in the story, almost the whole book would be changed. If I had to pick the narrator, though, I would pick Art3mis, the heroine of the story. If she were to narrate, the reader would have a whole different perspective on the main character, Wade (Parzival). He would be portrayed as a little more clingy during part of the book, perhaps, but also very heroic and awesome at other times.

The author wrote this book because he admits he is also a huge geek, and wanted to express himself through writing while also reaching out to the audience of young adults whom of which are just like him: Huge nerds and geeks. I think that Ernest Cline wanted to show how powerful and awesome being a nerd can be, and by taking it to the extreme, he really out out a strong positive message to empower young adults.

I can most definitely relate to the main character of my book. Wade is a teen that loves video games and plays them way too much. I am the same exact way. We are both very anti-social when it comes to playing games, and we both love lots of parts of our society's culture. Except in Wade's case, it's the 80's culture that he loves. Also, we are both very competitive when it comes to video game competitions and events.

Many huge events have occurred in my past week's reading. First off, Wade (Parzival) had found the Copper Key and cleared the First Gate, the first huge advancement in the Hunt in 5 years. But, more and more people found out, because after Parzival found the Key, someone who knew him began boasting about the location. Then, the "Sixers," an evil corporation, blackmailed Wade about the Key, and then tried to kill him.

If I were to be able to interview any character from my book, I would interview Wade, the main character of the story. A question I might ask him would be why he chose to become a "Gunter" in the first place. His answer might be that it is because his family is in poverty, and the family that he has left mistreats him. Because of that, that would be why he secludes himself in the OASIS, the game, in the first place.
