The terrorists have finally boarded the ship by setting a distraction where a man fell over board. They then cut all the com lines. Their final objective was to kill the admiral, and all the senior officers.

The terrorists have just put their plan into place and are checking out the helicopter. Jake and Callie grafton are talking about adopting a young girl who needs them. The woman who toad tarkington was talking to killed 2 men and "abducted" him but later left him at a local train station

In the last few chapters there have been multiple sailors who have gone missing while on liberty. We also find out that the terrorists are planing not only to steal an atomic bomb but also to use it. The commanding officers are all mad about so many of their sailors ditching the carrier.
