I've always had a problem with the hobbesian idea of "human nature" in which the natural state was the solitary individual, and to myself tried to summarize this problem as "human nature is to exist in human culture" and the like. Fukuyama has done the job. It's a very dense book and my progress is slow, but I'm very excited about continuing.
