Reminds me of the Tamil(India) movie by Rajnikanth, Chandramukhi, where MC's friend buys a Bungalow in a village that was haunted.
Everyone tells them not to enter the locked room at the top. But the friend's wife opens it. She will develop a new personality/kind of haunted by a ghost.
Maybe because of that connection, I am loving this book so far.
