The Faces of a Martyr - 5/5.

This was a fascinating little update taking place shortly after The Machine Crusade. Very interesting turn in the politics of Dune.

The Whipping Mek - Short Story. (3/5 for concept…but it could’ve been better.) This short piece was a bit front-heavy, only introducing the Mek in the last few pages, and the entire point of the story was relegated to a short paragraph or two. Dig the concept, mehhh on the execution.

Short story, “Hunting Harkonnens” features a space battle between cymek general Agamemnon and the Harkonnen noble Ulf, his wife, and his son, Piers. Forced to flee to Caladan, Piers fights for his life against the pursuing cymeks. In a showdown between Agamemnon and Piers, he emerges victorious, although Agamemnon escapes. Elsewhere, a second Harkonnen son learns of the fate of his family. Loved this short story!
