her and her brother experiment with old junk they found and set things on fire. their dad didn't mind at all.

narrators shared stories about how her and her siblings spent their time learning and playing at their new home in Battle Mountain

I really enjoy the set up of this book and how there isn't one big plot line but many small stories; I never lose interest.

Her mother gave birth to a baby girl that was named Maureen but shortly after, their family was apart of a chase with the police. The family left town for a new city in Nevada called Battle Mountain,

in the last 2 chapters she told stories about how her family rented a house and her father finally got a job but were still struggling. Then her father suddenly lost his job right around Christmas and instead of getting toys for Christmas, her and her siblings picked out stars and that was their present.

the narrator continued the stories of her and her family living on the run in the desert. We learned that the goal is to find gold and become rich. I also learned the dignificance of the title The Glass Castle because that is what her father promised to build his their family after they become rich. Then, she told us about how her father told stories about himself and about meeting his wife and having children.

The author told a story about the time her parents told her and her sister to pack up their things and they left spontaneously on road trip, neglecting their responsibilities to pay their bills. I am beginning to wonder if they will ever return home.

She continued to tell the story of when she caught on fire and went to the hospital. When she got out of the hospital she began to be fascinated with fire. She stole matches and set her barbies on fire. It seems like she's gonna grow up and have a serious problem.

So far this book is very interesting. The first chapter was of a daughter of a homeless couple who has grown up to become successful. Shes worried about her homeless parents but they don't want her financial help. Then, the next chapter was a the daughter telling a story of her childhood when she was living with her parents. She caught on fire and went to the hospital.
