re-reading this (also buddy read with champ (her first time))! i don't understand how i could love book 2 so much but remember only the negatives from this book, hence the re-readddd <_<

With how well Shae is doing, I can sense that Hilo is gonna die and she's gonna be Pillar by the end of this all.

But what I want to happen, is for Hilo to be injured enough that he can no longer wield jade, then he stews for a long time before trying to help his clan and then somehow rising to Weather Man role. That'd be some sick character reversal.

The pacing is picking up but I'm still not as engrossed as I thought I would be 🥴

Hilo what do you mean hot cereal? 😭😭😭

I'm going to go ahead and make a prediction. Watched a few Hong Kong films growing up, I think everyone dies at the end of the trilogy. The women might survive. Maybe Shae will be Pillar?
