So far in the book, Looking for Alaska, Miles left his parents to go to a boarding school in Flordia. Once at Florida he meets his roommate Chip Martin. Who is short, strong and smells like cigarettes. After that Miles goes with Chip to a girl named Alaska's room. She tells them to meet them by the lake where Miles tries cigarettes for the first time. He then throws them up right after.

The ending to Looking for Alaska was very emotional. This is because the boys found out how she died. After interviewing all the people she talked to that night they made an educated quests what happened to her. When the doctors examined her body they found she had a lot of alcohol in her system. So it was likely she was driving to her mothers grave and crashed into a police car that she didn't see.

Alaska is a mysterious character in the novel Looking for Alaska. She has a personalized where people want to be her or with her. After she dies the whole school is depressed and mourns her death. Alaska is a popular girl who makes bad choices, like drinking and driving. Even since she was little she would put flowers on her mother grave on the anniversary of her death. This tragic childhood led her to be this way.
