Probably the most interesting thing about this 100 year old shadow magic dude is that he's only ever referred to by his title and he doesn't seem to have an actual name and no one has even referenced this or pointed it out and that fact in and of itself speaks so many volumes about the culture of this world and about how he probably thinks about himself

I'm not the kind of person who hears a voice in my head for every character but I am imagining the first person narration of this book in a very dramatic Russian accent
