hard to get into, too many characters and different sub plots

so far the book is hard to get into bc of all the different characters there are. I feel King tend to do that and i’m not the biggest fan of it because it gets to be more complex than it has to. So far, i think that the book is about this fatal sickness that is highly contagious and it’s maybe an end of the world type book.
