Glad to see this book on Goodreads’ database. It’s a fascinating look into history so far—not just the events but also how the story is told, the language, the perspective and the details. The civil war being referred to as the “war of rebellion” (and by a southerner) and the unapologetic retelling of police and military killing looters with no due process, it goes on and on, the signs of a different era
