I've always had trouble remembering names, and let me tell you... Celtic names are like a boss level in a memory game! 😂 I'm reading this book at a snail's pace because I keep flipping back to check the names. If I don't, I can't follow the story! It's like, "Wait, who did what now? Oh, right, insert unpronounceable name here!" 😂📚

Celts used to believe that the soul rested in the person’s head. That's why during battles, they always prayed not to lose their heads, as it would mean they wouldn’t be able to find peace in death.

The Children of Lir is such a beautiful tale. The common thing you can find in this Celtic myths is that their Gods used to be powerful but… once people stopped believing in them, they disappeared. The leprechauns that we know are in reality the forgotten Celtic gods

I'm definitely reading this book slower than usual; however, it's super interesting! You learn so much, which is why the pace is slow. Every page has so much information that you really need to learn to slow down and let everything sink into your mind 🫶🏼💜

So far it’s super interesting ☺️! In the intro we have some historical background… I just learned that Belgium was named after the Celtic word “Belgae” (which I think stand for “people who swell with fury/anger, basically saying that people there were fierce during battles). Interesting how the name stayed
