See what’s so interesting is that Dan Jones cites Philipp IVs consent to give Isabella in marriage to Edward as proof that he couldn’t have been gay, cause what god-fearing monarch of the 13th century would do that if he credited the rumours going around Europe - but like at the same time, as pointed out here: there’s always pragmatism (and also this is the same king who burned a religious order to extinction)
