This book is not an allegory because there aren't any major events that occur in the book, that also occurred in history. There are situations that reflect human situation, such as when Tab faces the tough decision of whether to fight for her friend's faith, or her own reputation. Tab chooses her friend over herself, which can reflect to the meaning that helping others can be more of a reward than helping yourself.
