Jonathan Crane (AKA: The Scarecrow) is supposed to be an academic & a scientist who uses chemicals to prey on people's phobias. Yet he goes on a rant here about how he's never found mention of a God of Fear. It's one of those moments in which you can feel the writer stepping beyond his own fields of expertise. The Greek god of fear, for example, is one that Crane should know well: PHOBOS. Root of the word "Phobia."
