The first book is the best in the series. This one fizzled under the weight of movie references, clunky mythology exposition and poorly blocked action sequences with little emotional or physical stakes. The father-daughter relationship was the best concept for the piece but the writer shied away from it, instead choosing to go with the farcical Team America, fuck yeah, tropes. Too bad.
