I could summarize her do faring his way. God is ineffable—therefore, over against the protestations of many Jews, Christians, and Muslims, you cannot take either their texts ortheir traditional doctrines 'literally.' Meh.

There should be a book on the ancient religions of Mesopotamia. I'm sure there is, actually. Somebody link me. Anyway, decent so far. Not a history of God so much as a history of 'God' — the concept in human thought and religion.
