I remember seing this as a play in high school and was absolutely blown away. A stage adaptation of a book of this length obviously has to make choices in what to emphasize and what to tone down or even cut out. All this to say that I did not, going into this, imagine that I would empathize so much with Fyodor. He’s a troubled but very funny guy! Not great at the whole dad-thing though.
