I was dreading reading this third book in the series after barely making it through the second one (The Dark Forest). But so far it is similar to the first book (The Three Body Problem). I'm wondering if the fact that the translator of the second book was different is what made the difference? So far I reckon you could read the first and third books and skip the second one altogether.
