The connections and fashions of Tigris and Lucy Grey are really interesting, and the interactions with bread pudding and humanization really create the characters perception and connection with Corio. Sejanus's ethical dilemma is probably the highlight and most expressive form of rebellion, even as compared to the tributes.

As compared to the movie, it's really interesting to see snow's perspective and self doubts told through this point of view. The use of small motions in an otherwise completely artificial interactions goes by quickly, but the interactions are more meaningful then the rest. Sejanus is clearly going through something.

I'm really curious as to why Suzanne Collins chose the day of the reaping to be July 4th, a popular and important holiday in the US. I wonder if this all could be a story that is post war or a extremely changed USA, or if the 'rebellion' was a 4th of july protest against capitalism.
