Thoughts so far?

I'm definitely enjoying it, but it's soapier than I anticipated.

I didn't feel it at the time, but I can see that. I don't get that from his later work.

Well, it was a little strange because the (view spoiler)[soap opera story line of the undercover cop and the mobsters (hide spoiler)] was really only less than half of the book. The rest was all relationship, so while I LIKED that aspect, objectively I'm not sure it was a well-balanced plot.
