So far I have enjoyed the first part of the book. I read the prologue and found it to be very confusing as it discussed his relationship with his Jewish friend and was wordy and confusing. However, after I read the first “chapter” about what it means to be beloved I really enjoyed it. It is an interesting structure of a book because it’s only 160 pages and has few but longer chapters.

I’ve learned the importance of what it means to be apart of God’s chosen people and how our lives will look differently than others. Everyone is chosen uniquely by God, and it isn’t a competitive thing where just because I am chosen others are not. I believe that this very much aligns with the Bible and Jesus’ preaching as Jesus calls us to a life of love and grace that the world doesn’t understand.
