This really surprised me. Obviously inspired by the Outlander books, the heroine finds herself transplanted in 17th (?) century Scotland. McLeod takes this set up and masterfully balances the will-they-wont-they love story against the backdrop of a clan war with lots of daggers, swords and flying arrows. A terrific page-turner.
