Let me know how is the book! I met the author a while back at a language exchange event.

The author 張志聰 hates English and Korean languages, all dialects, and Simplified Chinese, which are personal choices. However, there are some language learning techniques that I can learn from his book: Talking over pictures (E. O. Plauen (Erich Ohser)'s Father and Son commic strips are his favorate (German edition vol. 1,2,3 available at Amazon US), watching documentaries (much easier than watching news programs), learning pronunciation and conversation before grammar (this is a common advice among Terry Hsieh, Benny Lewis, etc., but the rationale is about cost effectiveness, which is good to know).
