Finished reading this book. The other half was just the original Tagalog writings of the author's memoir.

What's so disappointing with the Katipunan leaders is they don't have the light sleeping ability of a samurai in case an assassination takes place. Such in the case of Colonel Manglonso.

Mariano Alvarez was wrong when he said that the Spaniards were their only enemies. Filipinos could also be their enemies if they are hindering the freedom of the Motherland.

Having your own private army shouldn't be a big deal for the Magdiwang faction. In a war where anything could happen (betrayal, defection, ambushes), it's best to stay safe and have your own security force.

The Kolorums' putting ropes on their belts expecting able to tie the Spanish civil guards, thinking they will be bullet-proof and as an act of faith to their cult is the same as jumping off on top of a building thinking you'll gonna defy the law of gravity.

The Moros are far greater than their northern brethren because when a Moro leader is captured by the Spaniards or Americans, they did their best to save him out of captivity.

If a person in the story is said to be missing and never seen again, you can bet that that person is either escaped and lived elsewhere in secret or brutally salvaged (murdered in secret).

How can you say that a leader (Feliciano Jocson) is sabotaging the peace treaty when your own leader (Emilio Aguinaldo) returned from exile in Hong Kong to continue the resistance against Spain? For starters, Aguinaldo shouldn't agree in the peace pact and shouldn't receive the P400k.

I wouldn't consider any Magdalo member as patriots but traitors (except those who defected) after they executed Bonifacio and signed the peace treaty with Spain.

How can you allow spies to work in your revolutionary gov't.? By agreeing with their peace pact of the Spanish gov't., Aguinaldo put those who sacrificed and gave up their lives for the Motherland to be in vain.
