At first Guy Montag, the protagonist, accepts and even enjoys his job of being a fireman and burning the books. Later, he becomes fascinated with books and wants to live outside of the comfort and pleasure he is used to. This shows he is a curious man who can learn to question things that do not seem right. He learns that just because something is accepted by many does not mean it is correct, which is very important.
