Mostly just going through the differences between Frankie and Shirley. The POVs are a little wonky and confusing. When Frankie is by himself, the POV is from Shirley’s perspective which is confusing. It’s mainly a story about how mismatched they are, with lots of flashbacks. A lot of declarative statements instead of examples, which is a pity.

Author’s backwards logic that if things rarely go well for Shirley then she becomes MORE optimistic.

Author perpetuates the stereotype

Are they married or related? —- “All his life it had been this way,”

I like this second SS. Some of the writing was confusing but the idea and execution was great
