Seconding Bride, I loooved it! Also, apparently that’s the only stand alone I’ve read lmao Daughter of the Moon Goddess is my most heavily recommended book though, and it’s a (completed) duology!!
Have you tried any Olivie Blake books? I enjoyed both One for My Enemy (a Romeo and Juliet retelling, but with magic) and Masters of Death. Blake is a bit verbose but also hilariously sarcastic. If not her, I third Bride.
where the dark stands still was a good stand alone
any thriller by Riley Sager, Bride by Ali, and Rebecca Ross has some cute easy standalone too!
ive been holding onto this so idk how epic but, Slaying the Vampire Conqueror? stand alone but same world as the Crowns of Nyaxia series
A short duolgy is the Godkiller series. I just finished it and the first book is only like 288 pages of story. Very quick read.
