Such a fascinating story. Things always go worse, no matter how less worse they were looking...and then there's a miraculous save. No, respite, not a real save; just a pause in the horror. And they carry on. Still don't think the art fits the tale, but at least I now understand it's the way the chronicler views things.

We have a change of narrator, who is casting doubt on much of what preceded with hints at all of what preceded. I am intrigued but I am also sure hoping that the first narrator was not a false lead
