I won’t be updating my progress now. Each Shakespeare play that Judi has performed in is analysed & dissected in detail. There are other chapters about general subjects (still connected to Judi’s experiences as a Shakespearean actor). I realised quite quickly that, if I was unfamiliar with a play, it would spoil my enjoyment of reading the play in the future. So, I am reading this out of sequence now.

I’m chuckling over Judi’s hatred of The Merchant of Venice. She dislikes the play so much & thinks Shakespeare must have been having a “funny turn when he wrote it”.
