"Valley Forge" is a powerful Punisher tale, a fantastic conclusion to Ennis' five year run on the title. Also surprisingly light on violence, especially after the final confrontation with Barracude preceding it.

So far the book excerpts aren't adding anything of value for me. But the action in the comic is ramping up nicely, although the Delta team does come off as pretty stupid in their first attempt (seriously, they didn't think Punisher would have cameras??).

Valley Forge is the heart of this volume and the cumulation of Ennis' run on the title. Lots of historical references that are hazy since it's been so long since I read the first portion of this run.

No remorse for what Frank does to Barracuda. "The sun slipped away behind me, the last sliver seeming to pause on the horizon, then succumbing to the black. And I drove on through the shadows of America."

"Thirty years since I'd known the terror of bring a parent." That's something you don't learn until you have your own kid(s).

End of issue 1and cover of issue 2 are scarier than any shootout. Frank and Barracuda are definitely personal.
