Patti is talking about after she played Evita, the next dozen plays she was in were flops. She explains it very much like she explained her years at Juilliard. She talks about it more as a learning experience than a horrible time in her life. Really a lot of people have been in that situation. They have left show business. She is very strong. Almost all the critics hate her, but she stills shows everyone her talent.

Patti has recalled her horrible experience as playing Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard. If I was treated this unfairly I would have left show business. She said that the only thing that got her through was medicine and a therapist.

In this section Patti talks about how she turned down her star role in Les Miz that she played in London (Fantine) on Broadway. She says that it was the perfect theatrical experience and that she didn't what something to ruin it. I don't think I could have done this. This was the star role, in probably the most famous musical. And your only on for 20 min.
