I'm taking my sweet time finishing this. I don't feel like reading this continuously either because pretty much two stories in one sitting from this collection is my limit. This way, I enjoy the content more.

The Midnight Meat Train is viciously fucked. I searched for a scary gif of a train and found an actual one about the Meat Train. Is this from a visual adaptation of said story? Title of the gif from tumblr confirms it. Wanna watch!!

Just. Wow.

I think Skins of the Fathers may be one of my favorite Monsters stories. Barker's prose is sharp and acidic for this story but it was also infused with warmth and strange nostalgia.

Pig Blood Blues is disgusting and riveting. Re-reading it again still upsets my stomach.

Just re-read Human Remains and it was still as haunting as ever. I remember reading it inside the office of our college paper. It was a slow day and I was lying in the sofa, utterly transfixed with the language and art.

Re-reading this to write a review as requested by a GR friend which is timely since Halloween is also upon us. This should be fun.
