I'm reading this book to learn about the presidents so that I can be better at scholars bowl. I was quite surprised when I was reading about President Rutherford B. Hayes, I was shocked to learn that the "Democratic nominee, Samuel Tilden... won the popular vote by more than 200,000 votes" (Stadelmann 160). Even though his campaign opponent had much more votes than him, he was still able to win the presidency. aaaaaa
