I loved this. Mantel made Cromwell just so human with a very dry sense of humour. Great stuff :-).

Yes - this is the comment I wrote on The Tudor Group re:-Wolf Hall, so we are on the same page :>)I am about 200 pages into Wolf Hall and while it is quite a heavy read I feel like I am on a journey with Cromwell, there by his side, experiencing his emotions. His loyalty and deep feelings for Wolsey are surprising and admirable. His view of people and the world about him is intuitive with a touch of humour. I am looking forward to seeing how future events will unfold through the eyes of this beholder...
I'm really looking forward to the second part of Wolf Hall, although I like Mantel's Cromwell so much that the ending might be hard to take.
