This book starts off with a girl named Melinda, as she enters the bus she is looking for a place to sit. She ponders where she can sit, soon enough she decides to sit in front. Soon enough more people come in and give her a dirty stare. Melinda is an outcast, nobody talks to her because of something that happened during summer. Melinda starts getting made fun of and one of her ex-best friend Rachel.
