The inciting incident that happens in Matched is when Ky, a boy who Cassia has known her whole life but never gotten to really know him, appears on her match card. She is matched to Xander, her childhood bestfriend, but she can't get Ky out of her head. This starts all of the action and conflicts between Ky, Xander, and Cassia.

The setting in the book Matched is in a futuristic society where everything is in order. The Society picks who your parents are, who you marry, what job you will specialize in, and what baby you will raise. There are no decisions made by the common citizens, and everything is orderly and neat. This effects the action because when her screen that shows who her match will be glitches, it makes Cassia curious.

Cassia faces both internal and external problems. Her external problem is that her Society is extremely ordered and strict, so when her screen glitches and flashes a picture of another boy's face, she gets curious. Her internal problem is that when the screen shows that one picture for one second, Cassia can't get the boy's face who flashed on her sreen out of her mind, Ky, but she knows her Match is Alexander.

The main character in Matched is Cassia. She is an average teenager living in a strict Society. Someting I like about her is that she is very humble and simple. She is not all about her own looks. One thing I don't like about her is that just because she saw that one flash of that boy's face on her screen, she now wants to be with him rather than her match, who is her best friend.

The ending of Matched takes a very exciting turn. After Ky's face flashes on Cassia's screen she can't get him out of her mind. Ky is an aberration because his parents were killed, so he doesn't get matched to anyone. Cassia and Ky start secretly seeing each other, and Cassia falls in love with Ky, and poor Xander can't do anything about it. When Ky has to leave to fight a war, Cassia is determined to find him!

So far, Mathced is very interesting. It is based on the future, and Cassia lives in a Society where they control your life. The officials in the Society controls what you eat, who you marry, how many kids you have, where you work, and when you die. I defiantly recommend this to any young teenagers who like futuristic a dramas, it is a thrilling book!

In the book Matched by Allie Condie, an accidental conflict occurs that makes Cassia reconsider her match. Cassia is 17, and at that age in her society, you get matched with whoever the society picks, usually a stranger. Cassia' is Match is her best friend she has known all her life, Xander Carrow. But when Ky Markham's face appears on the screen, Cassia starts to think she likes Ky more than her Match, Xander!
