The main character in the story I'm reading is a 15 year old girl named Alice. Alice and her family are moving to a new state, and Alice is very worried about making friends and fitting in. Alice is concerned about her physical presentation and she cares a lot about what other people think about her.

The main setting so far that is described in the book is Alice's family's new house. Alice describes it as big and open. Since the house is so big, Alice is worried that her family will not be as close as they use to, as everyone has their own space. The family's old house was very small, so they had to share a lot of the rooms, which made them spend more time together.
