I knew about Fort Duquesne and Fort Pitt, obviously, but Mercer's Fort was new to me. Interesting to see how a temporary outpost helped permanently secure the Forks of the Ohio to the British and later American interest

So the book mentioned a raid by natives against British traders near "Beaver Creek". I don't know if it's the very same one near which I live, but as they also mention Fort Sandusky, it could very well be. Also mentioned is Bushy Run. I pass by signs for it on my way back and forth between home and Ohio, and one of these days, I'm actually going to stop and check it out.

An interesting book so far in its own right, for personal reasons, I can't help but be amused every time I see mention of Fort... Ligonier. (that's a Scholastic Scrimmage in-joke, you know)
