Finished the second book of the trilogy, incredibly better than the first if even possible
The bond between him and his dad is almost as strong for who reads as for him, and having had the privilege of knowing who his dad was puts feelings of compassion and empathy in the reader towards him.

While I'm not a big fan of medieval politics, I do appreciate the little window that the writer provides to let me see politics through the eyes of a man who is affected by it and cannot help it
