Today I didn't lose focus at all, and I think that's because there were a whole bunch of facts, and interesting things. Those are also the things that keep me focused, so when the whole chapter that I read today was just a whole bunch of facts, and cool things. I really kept my focus the whole time while reading. And when I do lose focus while reading I usually will bring the book closer to my face, and look harder.

I think that through this book, the author is trying to show me that you have to be forgiving, and that you must be forgiving. Because if you're not, then you might live in hatred your whole life.

When I was reading today, what imagined in my mind most often, was Louie in horror of the Bird. Just those two making eye contact, and Watanabe having his little evil smirk in his face, with the fear of the American's (Since America was aggressively showing progress in the war.) But this image in my mind really felt true, because it was just those two's relationship. And really just the two of them hating each other.

I think that the Bird, or Mutsuhiro Watanabe was such a ruthless and psychotic man, because of his eagerness to be the best, and highest ranked. But failure to be so. For instance, when the Bird's sister got married to a man one rank ahead of him, Watanabe took out his anger and frustration on the POW's. I don't have any idea where someone's ranking could come to killing, and beating innocent men but that's the Bird.

In Unbroken, Pete kind of reminds me of my mom, because whenever Louie needed anything. Pete was there for Louie, and I know that if I ever struggle with anything. My mom will be there for me, just like Pete is there to make Louie a better, person, just like my mom.

Today I read about all of the problems there were in the POW camp's, during the winter. Since the POW's were not given any treatment, so many of them faced diseases, including beriberi, pneumonia, and other diseases. In the winter, one out of every five POW's died, of those diseases, or those diseases mixed.
