That was the stupidest oracle prediction prophecy thing to ever be written.

"An oracles message remained cryptic until it was understood." ..... That's like saying 'the sky remained blue until it wasn't blue.' HOW USELESS IS THAT LINE? HUH?

I can't help but feel that this is awfully convenient timing for the side effects of the spell Iolanthe broke to appear- shouldn't any pain have come when she broke the chandelier?

I want to find the addition of moving mountains clever, but the realm is so muddled it just annoys me >_<

Also, I am sick of these footnotes. Some are necessary, but so many are pointless and annoying. I don't care about some petition- find a way to tell me the information within the story itself if it is so important!

Also, why was Iolanthe given a name if we are to refer to her nearly exclusively as Fairfax from now on? Even in the prince's thoughts?

Good lord, the hero of our story (referring to the prince) is an insufferable Gary Stu. Is there any magic besides elemental which he hasn't mastered? And elemental magic has been overwhelmingly useless thus far.

How am I supposed to believe someone wouldn't know what salt looks like?

The writing reminds me of the Paper Magician, which is not a good thing, and the world is very confusing now that the 'non-Mage realms' have been added. I would really prefer that the author had made up a false country and school for the setting, adding in England and Eton is just confusing and weird.
