I feel that The Maze Runner is a fantastic book and I would give a 9/10 rating. I gave it a 9 rating because it had a great storyline. However, sometimes it was hard to follow. I would recommend this book to the young teens that are in middle school. I would
recommend the Maze Runner for them instead of older people because it would be below their reading level and the Maze Runner wouldn't be appropriate for kid.

At the beginning of The Maze Runner, Thomas arrives at a strange place called the Glade. His memory is wiped out but he can syill remember is his name. He comes to Glade by going up an elevator shaft. After a while of living at Glade, he realizes that he is stuck and the only way to get out is through the maze but the grievers will kill them. A girl comes out of the same shaft to say," Thomas," and then pass out.

If I was the author, the changes I would make would be to have the greivers have a weakness so that the boys could have at least a fight with the
them. I would make this change because I would have liked a fight between a griever and Thomas. It was fun when he ran away from the griever and it got smushed from the moving walls. However, I like a lot of action and the fight seen would be satisfying.

Thomas was seeing how the gates were closing and how one of the runners was stung while the other one was caring him. He realizes that they can't make it through. He runs right before the "doors" close. They are terrified that the Greviers are going to get them. The maze is always changing so when Thomas was running, one of the Greviers got smushed but one of the closing doors. Other boys come to see the griever

James Dashner's purpose in writing The Maze Runner is for entertainment. His message he is trying to tell us is leadershipbravery, strength, and not giving up. He expresses these traits with Thomas.

I can not relate to Thomas in the Maze Runner because he is ignorant and clueless. I can't relate to him trying to escape because I don't know what escaping feels like. Also, the boys don't have technology, are less civilized, and they don't have the same medicine, We have iPads and antibiotics for the sick.

I chose the Maze Runner because my friend recommended it for me. Because I am in the beginning I can't judge the book yet but I think this will be a great book.
