The amount of babying and hand holding and concern Kai and Cade are dishing out over Ellis’s discovery she’s a harpy is more than when they found out she was raped and beat for 2 years by her fiancé.

Already annoyed at Ellis. I think the author wants her to be a badass, but so far all she is is a little girl who can hardly function and has mastered being a victim.
