Didn't have any imagery in the book, But Lida was changed from her laundry job to a factory, and she had to make sure she had no metal on her body until she moved into the next room.

While Lida was put in rigorous conditions, she still makes the most of her situation, and is still working the job in the laundry. She still worries a lot about her sister, Larissa.

Lida and Juli are talking about their jobs, and Lida works in the laundry and sews while Juli works in the hospital. Juli comforts the kids as the Nazi doctors drain their blood and the kids bleed to death.

There was a conflict in which the officers were asking the kids in the concentration camp of their age, and if they were younger than 12 years old. Lida lied about her age, which worked. She wasn't sent to the "hospital", which I am guessing to be the gas chamber.

The setting was cold and windy, and this contributed to the feelings of the main character in the concentration camps during WWII. The cold wind paired with wet clothes causes the character to be extremely cold and miserable the entire time.
