Still really good! I wonder if there's more of a religious undertone of the bones/overall story being told. My two favorite lines I read were "The more she was ignored, the more confident she felt" (70) and "Could they [the Taliban] have feelings of sorrow, like all other human beings?" (80). The perspective of a child empathizing with them as a means to understand the taliban was such a painful but profound detail.

SO SO SO good! My favorite line so far is "It made her angry, and since she could do nothing with her anger, it made her sad." (17) Such a profound and beautiful line as a whole but also reflecting the childhood frustration and sorrow with losing Kabul and growing up with bombing.
